2. Add a hybrid safety

Adding a hybrid safety/linebacker/cornerback player would also do wonders for this defense. You know, someone like Antoine Winfield Jr. whom they passed up in the first round of last year’s draft.

Almost every modern defense plays very little base personnel (typically a 3-4 or 4-3 alignment), instead, opting to insert a fifth defensive back who can both cover and provide additional support against the run. That’s exactly the type of player Green Bay needs. They tried Chandon Sullivan, Will Redmond, Raven Greene, and Josh Jackson in various slot corner or third safety roles and none of them have worked. This position is basically a starter and should be given such priority in the offseason.
