Packers 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft: Post Senior Bowl Edition
Packers Round 2 (61st overall): Chazz Surratt, LB, North Carolina
This is probably the biggest question mark of the mock draft with Green Bay selecting linebacker Chazz Surratt out of North Carolina. Surratt projects as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment which could make some sense if Green Bay wants to add depth and moves on from Preston Smith to save some money in the offseason.
Surratt’s path is a unique one, to say the least. He came to North Carolina as a quarterback before transitioning to linebacker in 2019. It’s safe to say he burst onto the scene as he was a First-Team All-ACC selection and the runner up for the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. He improved his play in 2020 with a year of experience under his belt and could be a fast learner despite being 24-years-old before he’ll play his first game in the NFL. He has a good package of size and speed that could make it intriguing for the Packers to take a chance on.
