Kris Richard

Kris Richard was the former defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, but is currently unemployed after not getting a coordinator job last season. That could change if the Packers come knocking. Richard is from the Dan Quinn tree which LaFleur is very familiar with. This would be an intriguing hire for the Packers.

Jerod Mayo and Stephen Belichick

This pair of defensive coaches are currently in New England with the Patriots. Jerod Mayo, a former inside linebacker, has been successful in his role as a coach and is one of the up and coming names in the business. Stephen Belichick, Bill Belichick’s son, has also coached all over the Patriots’ defense and it might be worth seeing if he can tap into his dad’s genius with another team.

James Bettcher

Although James Bettcher was just hired with the San Francisco 49ers in a consultant role, the Packers could bring him back to the midwest. Betcher was the coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants and runs a very aggressive defense–something LaFleur seems to prioritize.

Mike Caldwell

If the Packers want to pluck off the Todd Bowles tree, Mike Caldwell could be their guy. Caldwell is the inside linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has worked closely with Bowles for a number of years. LaFleur could try to go after the defense that just ended their Super Bowl hopes.
