With the recent news that the Green Bay Packers are moving on from defensive coordinator Mike Pettine after his contract expired, it won’t be long until Matt LaFleur finds a new guy to run his defense. Lucky for him, we are here to help him out.

Below, we’ve listed ten candidates LaFleur should take a long hard look at for his top defensive job and we have separated them into a few categories: in-house candidates, former head coaches, and new coordinators. But first, let’s start with a local favorite and growing legend.

Here are ten potential candidates to become the next defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers.

Jim Leonhard

Jim Leonhard has had tremendous success as the defensive coordinator for the Wisconsin Badgers. He’s been on record saying he doesn’t want to leave Wisconsin for another position and is more than content in his current role. However, it would be interesting to see if Green Bay could convince him to move a few hours north and man their defense.
