Packers: Winners and losers from playoff win over Rams
Winner: Packers’ running game
The Packers unleashed a three-headed monster at running back and it was clear the Rams weren’t prepared for it. Green Bay ran the ball a total of 36 times for 188 yards and a 5.2 yards per carry average. Not bad against the number one defense.
Aaron Jones led the way with 14 carries for 99 yards (7.1 average) and a touchdown. He had an amazing 60-yard scamper to kick-off the third quarter and set up a quick touchdown for Green Bay. Jamaal Williams also ran the rock 12 times for 65 yards (5.4 average) while rookie A.J. Dillon rushed six times for 27 yards (4.5 average).
The best part was Green Bay played Dillon and Jones together a number of times, clearly leading to bigger things next week. This Packers’ rushing attack is something special and they showed it on Saturday.
