Packers: 3 greatest strengths heading into 2021 playoffs
The Green Bay Packers will be able to lean heavily on these strengths as they try to make a deep run in the 2021 playoffs.
After a hard-fought season, the Green Bay Packers are taking their week off easy with a couple of rest days followed by some film sessions and light practices later in the week. It’s much-deserved, but it’s critical this team maintains their focus, as they prepare for a (hopefully) deep playoff run.
Speaking of the playoffs, this is a time of the year when teams are challenged at the highest level. The stakes and intensity ramps up with everybody playing for their football lives. The teams who can lean on their strengths will have the most success, and here are the Packers’ three greatest strengths heading into the postseason.
Packers’ greatest strength no. 3: Fast starts/game scripts
For two years now, Matt LaFleur has done a tremendous job scripting the start to games for the Packers’ offense. Green Bay led the NFL with 18.7 points per 1st halves this season–the highest since the Atlanta Falcons scored 18.9 in 2016. Their ability to points on the board early puts a tremendous amount of pressure on opposing offenses to keep pace with them. This often gets them out of their normal balance and forces them to be more one dimensional. If the Packers can continue to get off the line quickly in the playoffs, it will be beneficial to both sides of the ball.
