Green Bay Packers X-Factor: Kevin King

It’s been a really up and down year for Kevin King, He’s had some good stretches, some bad stretches, and he’s missed some time with an injury as well. Whether King is playing well in the playoffs or poorly, he’s going to leave his mark on the game.

With Jaire Alexander completely locking down one side of the field and Chandon Sullivan playing well in the slot, if King is able to play as he did in 2019 or during certain stretches this season, moving the ball through the air against this Green Bay Packers’ defense is going to be a real challenge.

On the flip side, because Alexander is locking down one side of the field, King is going to be targeted heavily. We saw this on Sunday against Chicago when he was thrown at 12 times. If King is struggling in coverage, missing tackles, and playing like he did against Detroit and Carolina, he’s going to be picked on.

This season, King has been targeted 51 times, allowing a completion rate of 68.6 percent while receivers average 14 yards per catch. He’s given up just one touchdown, been called for five penalties, and quarterbacks have a passer rating of 105.8 when targeting him.

King has the potential to be a real game-changer for this defense.
