Reason Packers can defeat bears no. 1. Chicago cornerback trouble

The Packers’ greatest weapon–the Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams connection–has a chance to thrive in Sunday’s game. Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the game and can beat any cornerback he matches up with. In 13 games this season, he has 109 receptions for 1328 yards and 17 touchdowns.

To make matters worse (for the Bears), they are missing some of their top players in the secondary with others questionable to play. Cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Buster Skrine have already been ruled out. They still have Will Fuller, but unproven corners such as Duke Shelley and Kindle Vildor will be asked to step up. Furthermore, safety Tashaun Gipson is also questionable.

It’s likely Fuller spends a ton of time on Adams in this contest AND receiver plenty of safety help over the top. That means the other wide receivers will have plenty of opportunities to exploit single coverage and open things up for the offense. Expect Adams to get his, regardless, but a breakout game by someone like Allen Lazard or Marquez Valdes-Scantling could be a huge confidence-booster heading into the playoffs.
