Reason Packers can defeat bears no. 2. Emerging defense

Speaking of defense, the Packers’ unit has been thriving since the last time these two teams met in Week 12. Since that game, Green Bay is only giving up 17.5 points per contest. All of that is due to subtle changes defensive coordinator Mike Pettine made, but the players have also stepped up their game.

The safety duo of Darnell Savage and Adrian Amos has played brilliantly since then. Amos is flying all over the field and is providing huge help in the running game. Meanwhile, Savage is basically running a no fly zone, as he has four interceptions over his last five games, including two against the Bears.

The run defense is also greatly improved, coming off one of their most impressive performances of the season against Derrick Henry and the Tennesee Titans. If the Packers can get an early lead and stop the run, it will put a ton of pressure on Trubisky to beat them through the air. Something he hasn’t proven capable of.
