The Green Bay Packers are oh so close to clinching home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs and could do it in Week 16.

Coming off a stale victory over the Carolina Panthers, the Green Bay Packers know they must play better if they want to leave Lambeau Field with a victory over the Tennesee Titans on Sunday night. The Titans boast one of the most dangerous offenses in the entire NFL and Green Bay must come ready to play.

If the Packers want to clinch home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs on Sunday, two things must happen: 1. A victory over the Titans and 2. A Seattle Seahawks defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams. If neither of those things happens, Green Bay can still clinch home field, but they’d have to wait until the final week of the regular season to do so. Fortunately, here are three reasons why they should be able to take care of business in Week 16.

3. Emergence of Krys Barnes, Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage

We may be seeing a changing of the guard at middle linebacker with Krys Barnes slowly taking more playing time away from Christian Kirksey. Barnes has looked good in recent weeks and is coming off a PFF grade of 87.4 where he particularly excelled in run defense. Behind him, Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage are also playing their best ball of 2020 and should be able to provide support in both the running and passing games. With all three guys at their absolute best heading into this showdown against Derrick Henry and the Titans’ offense, the Packers should be able to slow Tennesee’s dangerous offense down.
