Milwaukee Bucks: Bold Predictions for the Starting Five
Donte DiVincenzo
Donte DiVincenzo is a player that I have been excited for since the Milwaukee Bucks drafted him 17th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. But DiVincenzo has not quite lived up to that level of hype through his first two NBA seasons.
That being said, DiVincenzo has not been a bad NBA player to this point in his career. DiVincenzo has been a player that has come off the bench for most of his career and plays extremely hard for the Bucks. He seems to be a pesky defender, according to Basketball Reference, as he had a defensive win share of 3.2 for the 2019-2020 season. In comparison, Antetokounmpo lead the league with 5.0 in defensive win shares.
Similar to Holiday, we have not seen DiVincenzo in the starting rotation a lot for the Bucks. However, we have seen DiVincenzo play with guys like Middleton, Antetokounmpo, and Lopez during his brief time in the NBA. DiVincenzo has not been very efficient in his time in Milwaukee to this point in his career, averaging just 31.8 percent from three-point range during that span.
If DiVincenzo is, in fact, a starter for the majority of the season, I will be expecting to see an increase in his efficiency numbers. He will be the fifth option for the offense when on the court with the other starters, which could give him some more open/easier looks at the hoop.
Prediction: Donte DiVincenzo will increase his three-point percentage to what we saw from him in his last season at Villanova, which is 40 percent.
