Packers: 5 biggest 2021 Draft needs based on 2020 season
Based on how the 2020 season has gone, the Green Bay Packers must address these five needs in the 2021 NFL Draft next spring.
With the Green Bay Packers preparing for their final three games, let’s take a moment to peep ahead to the offseason. More specifically, let’s review the Packers’ top draft needs based on their play in the regular season.
Despite currently holding the top position in the NFC standings, Green Bay has a number of holes they must address if they want to become a more well-rounded team in the future. They’re certainly good enough to win it all as is–if the dominos fall just right–but they have work to do (as does every team). So let’s hit pause on the season and preview their five biggest 2021 draft needs.
5. Wide receiver
Yes, this debate has raged on since the completion of the 2020 NFL draft when the Packers failed to wake a wide receiver in a receiver-heavy draft–and we still don’t know what the correct answer was–but the reality is it remains a need for 2021.
Davante Adams has continued his ascent and has cemented himself as one of the truly elite receivers alive. Allen Lazard had a strong start before an injury sidelined him and he’s slowly making his way back. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, although maddeningly inconsistent, has shown positive strides in Year 3. Still, the Packers could use some added depth and competition at the position.
