The Green Bay Packers move to 9-3 after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles, here are the studs and duds from their performance.

The Green Bay Packers did not have a tough match-up this week against a struggling Eagles team, as a result, the Packers were still able to come out on top in a game where the final score indicated it was closer than it actually was. I am going to break down the studs and duds for the Packers in this Week 13 victory over the Eagles.

Studs

Aaron Rodgers

First and foremost, Aaron Rodgers became the fastest quarterback in NFL history to throw 400 career TD passes.

Rodgers accomplished that feat in impressive fashion as he drove the Green Bay Packers down the field 99 yards on that drive, which was capped off with a nine-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams.

Milestones are always fun, but Rodgers really played extremely well in this game, going 25/34 for 295 yards with three touchdowns. Rodgers also had a 128.9 passer rating in this game. These types of performances were not occurring nearly as often in 2018 and 2019 but in 2020 it seems like Rodgers is putting up numbers like this each and every week.

Davante Adams

Similar to Rodgers it feels like Davante Adams is consistently putting up great numbers every single week, and Week 13 against the Eagles was no different. Adams caught 10 of his 12 targets for 121 yards and hauled in two touchdowns.

Adams now has 13 touchdown receptions on the year, and considering he missed two games early this season due to injury, his numbers are very impressive. In fact, he has caught a touchdown in every game but two this year, one of those games he left early due to injury and the other was his first game back from injury.

Adams has been very consistent when he is on the field and for my money, he is the best wide receiver in the game. I love watching Adams go to work each and every Sunday because you just never know what he is going to do.

Honorable Mentions

This week I felt like Rodgers and Adams really stood out as the studs for the game, but there are some other players I want to mention that also had good games; they just weren’t quite as impressive as Rodgers and Adams.

First is Aaron Jones, Jones seemed to be bottled up for the majority of the game until he breaks a 77-yard touchdown that gave Green Bay a two score lead late. Defensively I thought Darnell Savage had a good game as well, then late in the game, he seals it with a diving interception.

Lastly, I thought the defensive line/outside linebackers did a nice job of getting to the quarterback. Kingsley Keke, Dean Lowry, Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Rashan Gary all got involved in sacks to some capacity. Overall there was a lot to be excited about following this game.

Duds

Special Teams

The special teams unit has been suspect recently and that continued into the Week 13 matchup against the Eagles. On one play, in particular, the Packers allowed another punt return for a touchdown. This time it was Jalon Reagor returning it 74 yards for the score, which made it a one-score contest.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling

I have been, and still am a big fan of what Marquez Valdes-Scantling can bring to this offense. I think his speed can change this offense for the better. That said, he has to catch the ball.

Valdes-Scantling was targeted twice against the Eagles and did not have a catch. The biggest reason for Valdes-Scantling being on the duds this week is the drop on the first play from scrimmage in the second half, which would have been a huge gain. Instead, the Packers go three-and-out on the drive.
