2. Soft defense

The Packers’ defense is Charmin-soft. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it.

On a first quarter pass, Phillip Rivers found Michael Pittman Jr. crossing the middle of the field and for a little five yard dump off at the 40-yard-line. Unfortunately, inside linebacker Christian Kirksey was covering Pittman who was able to take the five-yard-pass the length of the field and waltz into the endzone without being touched by a single Packers’ defender.

There were numerous other occasions where their defense gave up plenty of yards in critical situations before a defender even got into a position to take down the ball-carrier. The performance of the defense means the Packers have to play nearly perfect in every other aspect of the game, a tall task against good teams like the Colts.
