The Green Bay Packers enter their Week 11 contest against the Indianapolis Colts as underdogs, but should still be able to upset them.

The Green Bay Packers have a big test in a Week 11 road contest that will give us a good idea about just how good they truly are. The Indianapolis Colts have a vaunted defense and veteran quarterback that could give Green Bay fits.

With the Colts being slight favorites in this game, let’s take a look at three reasons why the Packers could upset them and leave with a victory.

Make them one dimensional

The Colts are one of the worst running teams in the NFL–ranking 20th in total rushing yards and 29th in yards per rush. Despite the Packers’ issues stopping the run this season, they should be able to have success against the Colts. Indianapolis has a trio in the backfield, but their most natural runner–Jonathan Taylor–appears to be losing snaps every week. Green Bay should be able to shut down their running game and force them to pass early and often. That bodes well for a team that is returning their two starting cornerbacks this week.

Third downs

If Green Bay can limit their success on the ground and force them into a lot of third and mediums or third and longs, they should be able to get off the field in a timely fashion. The Colts rank 30th by only converting 37.5 percent of their third-down conversions. If the Packers can get off the field on third downs and get the ball back to their offense with good field position, that bodes well for the offense’s chances against a stout defense.

Davante Adams

Anytime you have the best player on the field you’re in good shape. And that’s exactly what the Packers have in Davante Adams. Adams will likely be shadowed by Xavier Rhodes on Sunday. Rhodes is having a bounceback year with Colts after his career with the Minnesota Vikings stumbled to an end. Rhodes and Adams are very familiar with one another with Adams dominating the matchup of late. Considering that past success, Adams should be able to win this matchup and help carry the Packers’ offense to a victory.
