Reality Check #2: Stop with the three-man rush

The Packers have an equally troubling trend on the other side of the football; a trend they’ve been running for years under multiple defensive coordinators. For whatever reason, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine loves to implement a three-man rush on third-and-goal or other critical situations.

We saw it again in the third quarter against the Jaguars when the Packers had Jacksonville in a favorable situation on third down inside the red zone. However, Pettine called the vaunted three-man rush, and Keelan Cole caught a pass smack dab in the middle of the field for a 12-yard touchdown. The Packers’ pass rush is already non-existent and quarterbacks have all the time in the world when he calls for just three rushers.
