3 reasons why Green Bay Packers will beat Jaguars in Week 10
The Green Bay Packers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10 and are favorites to walk away with the victory because of these three reasons.
The Green Bay Packers got back on the winning track thanks to a Thursday night victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. Looking to build some momentum, they are big favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, as they hope to win back-to-back games.
As we learned against the Minnesota Vikings, anything can happen on Sundays which means the Packers shouldn’t overlook the Jaguars, even if they are 1-7. Green Bay has a lot of work to do on their end if they want to make a legit run at the Super Bowl and can use this game to tighten up some of their mistakes.
So, as they look to continue their winning ways, let’s peep three reasons why the Packers will win on Sunday.
3. Reinforcements on the way
The Packers’ injury list has been steadily growing as the season has gone on, leaving them short-handed more often than not over these last few weeks. Hopefully, that’s changing and they’ll be getting a number of guys back this week. It’s already been reported Jamaal Williams and Kamal Martin have been activated off the COVID-19 list, meaning they should be good to go. And the Pack got Aaron Jones back last week as well. Allen Lazard, Kevin King, Christian Kirksey and David Bakhtiari also appear to have a good opportunity to return to the lineup this week, meaning Green Bay will be close to full strength.
2. Jaguars’ defensive woes
Simply put, the Jaguars have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. They’ve allowed the second-most points and yards, and are equally inept at stopping the run and the pass. That should mean the Packers’ offense will have a big day and be able to do whatever they want against Jacksonville. Look for head coach Matt LaFleur to keep the playbook balanced and allow his stars to dominate the contest.
1. Quarterback advantage
When one team trots Aaron Rodgers out at quarterback and the other sends Jake Luton to be their signal-caller, there’s an immediate and distinct advantage at play. Rodgers has returned to his MVP form this season with 2253 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and just two interceptions while completing 67.5 percent of his passes. Not bad for a guy who has played basically the whole season without his top two wide receivers on the field together.
Luton is getting set to make his second career start after holding his own in his debut against the Houston Texans a week ago when he completed an impressive 26 of 38 passes for 304 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Packers’ defense–who certainly have their own woes–will still put up a bigger challenge than the Texans, allowing Green Bay to run away with this one.
