Green Bay Packers RG: Lucas Patrick

Very rarely is an offensive lineman going to be gushed over, but even in Lucas Patrick’s case, I feel that he’s a bit forgotten about on the Packer offensive line. It wasn’t long ago that Patrick was thought of as just a depth player along this offensive front, but after an excellent training camp, this season he has transformed into a very good starter that can play any of the interior positions.

According to Pro Football Focus ($), Patrick has 298 pass-blocking snaps this season and is yet to allow a sack or a quarterback hit. As a result, his pass-blocking efficiency metric of 98.4 is the 10th best out of 54 guards with at least 170 snaps.

In the run game, Patrick ranks 10th once again out of all guards in ESPN’s run-block win rate metric. And this season, Packer running backs are averaging 4.6 yards per carry when they run between Patrick and Corey Linsley and 5.6 yards per rush when they run between Patrick and the right tackle.

Whether talking about run-blocking or pass-blocking, Patrick is getting the job done at a very high level this season and is a big reason why this Green Bay Packers’ offensive line has been so successful.
