2. Darnell Savage

Back to defense, Darnell Savage was supposed to take that vaunted Year 2 leap in 2020. He flashed his potential as a rookie in 2019 and appears to have all the athleticism to succeed in the NFL. Unfortunately, he’s taken a major step back.

He’s far too sloppy in his technique of bringing down ball-carriers, leading to his nine missed tackles this season. He also hasn’t shown the ball skills he had at Maryland, dropping interceptions like the one on Thursday night far more often than not. When he’s at his best, he’s solid at stopping the run and alright in coverage. The Packers need him to improve in both of those categories if they want to reach their potential as a defense.
