Kenny Stills – Houston Texans

The second trade target is another Houston Texans receiver, but this time it is Kenny Stills. While not the player that Will Fuller is, Stills would give the Green Bay Packers a much more proven deep threat than Marquez Valdes-Scantling, as well as someone who has also been more efficient on intermediate routes as well.

With Fuller, Randall Cobb, and Brandin Cooks, Stills has been a bit of an afterthought in Houston this season, totaling only 10 receptions on 18 targets for 138 yards. However, from 2013 to 2019, Stills had only one season where he didn’t record at least 500 receiving yards, and in two of those seasons, he had over 800 yards.

With Deshaun Watson as his quarterback in 2019, Stills caught 10 of 15 passes over 20 yards for a whopping 346 yards and five touchdowns, according to Pro Football Focus ($). While on intermediate routes of 10 to 19 yards, he hauled in 12 on his 13 targets for an additional 170 yards. As a reference point, on passes of 20 plus yards last season, Valdes-Scantling caught only five of 19 and then just five of 10 passes in the 10 to 19-yard range.

Stills is in the final year of his deal and has a base salary in 2020 of $6.98 million, but if he ends up on a new team, that figure will be pro-rated since we are over a third of the way through the season. Meaning, the Packers could afford him and potentially upgrade the WR3 position in the process.
