The Green Bay Packers’ injury report continues to grow and grow. A first glance at Week 7 includes David Bakhtiari and 12 others being listed.

A lot went right for the Green Bay Packers a year ago as they surprised the NFL with a 13-3 record and a trip to the NFC Championship game. Something they were very fortunate to avoid was the injury bug, however, the same can’t be said for this year.

Not even halfway through the season, Green Bay has been bitten hard by the injury bug and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. They’ve already seen wide receiver Davante Adams and Kenny Clark–two integral players on either side of the ball–miss a few games earlier in the season. Now it appears David Bakhtiari, one of the best left tackles in the NFL–could be next in line to miss time. Bakhtiari went down in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and didn’t return. He also did not participate in practice on Wednesday.

Green Bay has already had to shuffle their offensive line this season. Lane Taylor, their Week 1 starting right guard, is out for the year and they’ve had to persevere through injuries to Billy Turner. It’s unclear which route they’ll go to replace Bakhtiari upfront.

It’s bad enough the Packers will likely be without their starting left tackle, but he’s far from the only player they listed on their initial Week 7 injury report, as he was joined by 12 of his teammates.

Of those 12, Tyler Ervin, Tyler Lancaster, Darnell Savage and Robert Tonyan did not participate. Ervin missed Week 6 and it appears he’s still not ready to return to action. Lancaster and Tonyan have been positive contributors so far this season while Savage has struggled mightily in his second season.

Practicing on a limited basis was Krys Barnes, Rashan Gary, Kevin King, Marcedes Lewis, Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith and Equanimous St. Brown. King also missed their Week 7 contest so it could be seen as a positive sign he was at least able to practice a little bit. The Packers desperately need Gary, Smith and Smith to get healthy–their pass rush has been abysmal this season and there’s no hope of turning it around if their top three outside rushers are sidelined. Jaire Alexander was also listed on the injury report, but was a full participant in practice.

We’ll continue to monitor everyone’s progress throughout the week to see how their participation in practice evolves. Make sure to keep tuning in for updates!
