How many yards will Aaron Jones & Jamaal Williams rush for?

I wrote earlier today about how this should be a huge week for the dynamic duo that is Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. No matter which run game metric you look at, the Texans are either last or very close to it.

Through six weeks, the Texans have given up the most total rushing yards with 1,065, the most rushing yards per game with 177.5, and the most yards per carry at 5.4. Also, the eight rushing touchdowns they’ve allowed is the third most, while by DVOA, Houston’s run defense ranks 28th.

As I mentioned, we could very well see the Green Bay running backs bounce back in a big way this week, and that is going to help Aaron Rodgers and this Packers’ passing attack as well.

What will we see from the Green Bay Packers pass rush?

After dominating in 2019, the Packers pass rush has been incredibly underwhelming this season. Green Bay’s team pressure rate – which is either a sack, quarterback hit, or a hurry –  of 17 percent ranks 31st in the NFL. This season, Green Bay has just 53 total pressures through five games, which isn’t even close to the 128 they had through five games in 2019.

This week they’ll be up against a Houston offensive line that has allowed 19 sacks, the fourth-most in the NFL, and with a receiver group made up of Will Fuller, Randall Cobb, Kenny Stills, and Brandon Cooks, not to mention the electric DeShaun Watson under center, once again, pressuring the quarterback will be key.
