Group Two: Playoff Teams

Orlando Magic

Moving on to playoff teams that would get an upgrade with Bledsoe, the Orlando Magic are technically in this category, but fit more with the first five teams that are trying to rebuild and retool. Bledsoe would definitely be an upgrade over D.J. Augustin and Markelle Fultz. They won’t be moving on from their young frontcourt talent in Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, and Jonathan Isaac, but the Milwaukee Bucks could acquire some contributing wings in Terrence Ross and Al-Farouq Aminu.

Miami Heat

Now for the two teams that were in the NBA Finals this season starting with the Miami Heat. Goran Dragic outplayed Eric Bledsoe in the second round of the playoffs, but he is becoming a free agent this offseason and Bledsoe could fill their void for less money. Unfortunately, most of their other veterans like Jae Crowder are becoming free agents and Kelly Olynyk has a player option and cannot be traded until he picks that up.

Andre Iguodala likely isn’t enough to even start talks and most of their other assets are young guys like Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn, and Bam Adebayo who I assume won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. But maybe the Heat are just really determined to get a guy they just watched self-destruct in the playoffs right in front of their eyes and throw tons of picks at Jon Horst that he can’t refuse.

Los Angeles Lakers

Finally, the NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers whose only real point guard this season was Rajon Rondo. He’s clearly past his prime and recently announced he’s not picking up his player option for next season. The Lakers have a plethora of assets like Markieff Morris, Alex Caruso, Danny Green, and Avery Bradley if he picks up his player option for next year.

The Lakers made it clear that they’re willing to give up lower assets to acquire a big star when they got Anthony Davis and while Bledsoe isn’t even close to the same tier that Davis is, the Lakers could try to make Bledsoe their third star to give even more help to Lebron.
