Green Bay Packers RT – Billy Turner

Maybe this one is just me, but several times over the offseason, I wrote about how concerned I was with the right tackle position. After a down 2019 season, I had my doubts about Rick Wagner bouncing back, and to be honest, I didn’t have much faith in Billy Turner working out on the edge.

However, even with an injury, Turner won the job in training camp, and once fully healthy, the right tackle position was all his. And he’s been excellent in this small sample size.

According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Turner has taken 75 pass-blocking snaps this season and hasn’t allowed a single sack or a quarterback hit. By ESPN’s pass-block win rate metric, which measures how often a lineman can hold their block for at least 2.5 seconds, Turner ranks first among all tackles.

While, yes, Turner hasn’t taken as many reps as those who have been healthy all four games, I still have to say I’m pleasantly surprised at how good he’s been up to this point.
