3. Offensive Creativity

A big reason why Mike McCarthy was let go from the Packers was his lack of creativity. After taking the league by storm in 2010 and beyond, his ideas became stale and he failed to adapt to the current state of the NFL. LaFleur couldn’t be more different.

The Packers’ head coach has maximized the team’s offensive potential thanks to a creative scheme that keeps defenses guessing and gets the ball into the hands of their playmakers as quickly as possible. He loves to mix up his personnel, using fewer wide receivers and more running backs and tight ends. This ensures defenses can’t zero in on whether a pass or rush is coming.

LaFleur has also revitalized Rodgers as a result. Rodgers is putting up elite numbers once again, but everything isn’t falling on his shoulders like in the past. LaFleur’s gameplans have each been unique and specific to the team they’re playing. He’s leaps and bounds better in Year 2.
