Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver Davante Adams has suffered numerous injuries throughout his career, causing him to miss a number of games.

Players can be more susceptible to injuries for a number of reasons and it may never be clear why or correlated to just one reason. However, it’s worth wondering if Green Bay Packers‘ star wide receiver Davante Adams is “injury prone” at this point in his career.

Injury-prone may be an unfair label to attach to someone who has played in 88 of a possible 100 regular season games throughout his seven-year NFL career, but it’s at least worth examining when it comes to Adams. He’s missed the last two-plus games this season due to a “slight” hamstring strain and was clearly frustrated he was being held out of Monday night’s contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Maybe it was for the best considering his suddenly growing injury history.

He missed four games last year after suffering a turf toe against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. That’s not the first time he’s had issues with the same right foot, as he also sprained his ankle twice in 2015. The second time he was carted off the field and missed four games. When he returned, it was clear he wasn’t nearly the same type of player for the rest of that season.

He’s also has a couple of issues with his right knee. In 2016, he experienced an MCL sprain in the season-finale and had to miss the Packers’ playoff game the next week. Adams also sat out the 2018 season finale with an unspecified right knee injury, although that could’ve been due to the fact Green Bay was out of contention for the playoffs and resting him was the best long-term measure.

Who can forget the numerous dirty hits he’s been victim to as well. Back in 2017, Chicago Bears’ linebacker Danny Trevathan was penalized for his hit that gave Adams a concussion. Three months later in that same season, Carolina Panthers’ Thomas Davis concussed Adams and caused him to miss the final two games. That was the third concussion of his professional career.

It’s difficult to ignore the growing injury list to Adams and he’s fortunate he’s been able to avoid major injuries that might cause him to miss significant time. This could’ve played a role in why Green Bay was so cautious with returning him to the field before he was 100 percent ready. Hopefully, it doesn’t continue to be an issue for Adams and he’s able to stay healthy moving forward, as the Packers need him to achieve their ultimate goal.
