The Packers have used a lot of resources–high draft picks and free agency money–over the last few years to address this position. And right when it looked like they were beaming with potential, the unit took a mini step back this season.

Setting Jaire Alexander aside–who has been an absolute stud and has earned PFF’s highest grade at the position this season–Kevin King has been quiet in an important contract year. He’s been alright in coverage, but his tackling has been subpar.

Adrian Amos has been alright, but isn’t quite living up to his contract. The biggest concern comes with second-year safety Darnell Savage. The coaching staff loves him, but his production on the field isn’t living up to the hype. He clearly has great speed, but hasn’t figured out how to use it appropriately. There’s obviously still a lot of hope for him, but he has a lot of improvement left to make.
