2. NFC runs through the 49ers

As the Packers painfully learned last season, on two occasions, the NFC runs through San Francisco. Literally. In their first matchup, the 49ers ran for a pedestrian 112 yards and two scores on the ground. However, they went crazy in their rematch in the NFC Championship game, as they posted 285 rushing yards and four touchdowns while only airing it out eight times in the entire game. Both resulted in embarrassing Packers’ losses.

Green Bay has done little to address that issue, the swap of the currently injured Christian Kirksey for Blake Martinez at inside linebacker as their only notable move.

Don’t let the 49ers’ current 2-2 record fool you, as they’ve been dealing with a plethora of injury issues early on. They still rank eighth in yards per rush and it’s likely the Packers will come across them if they want to advance to the Super Bowl. Harrison will help them in this premier matchup.
