Aaron Jones rushes for over 120 yards

In both games against Minnesota last season, Aaron Jones had his way. He’d total 270 rushing yards at nearly six yards per carry with three touchdowns, and this week, I expect much of the same.

This Green Bay Packers’ offense was drastically different when Jones was on the field compared to when he was off in 2019. According to Bill Barnwell of ESPN, Green Bay’s expected points per play ranked third in the NFL when Jones was on, but 29th when he was on the sidelines.

So no surprise here, but he is going to get plenty of opportunities, and in Year 2 of the Matt LaFleur offense, as a whole, the unit should be improved overall.

From the Vikings’ standpoint, as I previously mentioned, up the middle, Linval Joseph is now with the Chargers, and their free-agent acquisition, Michael Pierce, opted out of the season. Green Bay also won’t have to contend with Danielle Hunter on the edge.

Last season, Minnesota didn’t have an answer for Jones, and with no Joseph, Pierce, or Hunter on Sunday, I don’t expect them to find one now. Jones has another big day.
