Strength: Secondary

Despite finishing in the middle of the pack (pun intended) when it came to passing yards allowed last season, ranking 14th in passing yards per game given up, there are signs suggesting they’ll be able to lean on their secondary in 2020.

Those signs include the Packers ranking 6th in the NFL in 2019 in quarterback rating, giving up just an 81.1 mark. They also ranked 10th in adjusted net yards per pass attempt. Furthermore, their pass rush should provide a big boost, as Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith are ready to unleash hell on opposing offensive lines. They’ll now have second-year pro Rashan Gary to add to the mix.

The Packers’ young secondary should also be ready to take a step forward. Jaire Alexander is flirting with elite status and should be even better in Year 4. Kevin King is healthy once again and Darnell Savage had a whole offseason to prepare for the speed of the NFL following a promising rookie campaign. When you add it all up, the Packers should be able to shut down opposing passing games.
