Green Bay Packers: Updated Roster Moves & Player Work Outs

Green Bay Packers sign CB Parry Nickerson
As I said, it didn’t take much time to fill one of those empty roster spots as the Packers signed third-year cornerback, Parry Nickerson. Drafted in the sixth round out of Tulane by the New York Jets in 2018, Nickerson totaled an impressive 16 interceptions over his college career along with 31 pass breakups.
Oh, and did I mention that he’s fast? Like, really fast. At the NFL Combine, Parry ran a 4.32 – 40 yard dash.
In the NFL, Parry spent 2018 with the Jets and then was briefly with Seattle before landing in Jacksonville last season. He’s appeared in 20 games, making three starts and totaled one pass breakup along with 27 tackles. But he’s also allowed 26 receptions on 34 targets at 11 yards per catch with two touchdowns.
Below, The Draft Network gave a quick mid-season review of Nickerson’s play during his rookie year in 2018 with New York:
"“As expected, the play of the sixth rounder out of Tulane has been all over the place. Nickerson has great speed and is a solid tackler considering his size, but miscommunications and penalties have cost him at times.”"
After Jaire Alexander, Kevin King, and Chandon Sullivan, the Green Bay Packers have some unknowns in the cornerback room. The addition of Nickerson gives them added depth and a speedster with good ball skills. At a minimum, he will help on special teams as a gunner.
