Welcome to Green Bay: Meet Packers’ newest players
De’Jon Harris, linebacker
It’s no secret the Packers need depth at inside linebacker, as free agent signing Christian Kirksey is their only proven commodity. Behind him, there are a bunch of question marks in Oren Burks and Ty Summers, as well as the now-injured Kamal Martin.
It appears Green Bay is stacking up at the position in case they need someone throughout the season as inside linebacker Krys Barnes is now joined by De’Jon Harris on the practice squad. Harris attended the University of Arkansas and was an undrafted free agent who spent training camp with the New England Patriots.
He was a ball-hawk at Arkansas, racking up 371 total tackles in 48 games, including 36 starts. He also brought the quarterback down 7.5 times and made 25.5 tackles for losses. He put up at least 100 tackles in each of his last three seasons. Green Bay hopes he can have that same type of productivity for them some day.
