Pour one out for our guy Jake Kumerow whose run as a member of the Packers appears to have come to an end after he was let go on Saturday. Without a doubt, Kumerow’s release was the biggest surprise on the initial 53-man roster.

Kumerow spent the last two seasons with the Packers after playing for UW-Whitewater. During his time in Green Bay, he caught 20 receptions for 322 yards and two touchdowns. Although he was beloved by the fans, that’s not exactly a great resumé he can hang his hat on. And at 28-years-old, it’s not like he’s a spring chicken with a lot of room to grow. As painful as this was, it was probably the correct call.
