Green Bay Packers Duds

Montravius Adams

As we all know, the Green Bay Packers interior defensive front needs to provide Kenny Clark some additional help this year, but it doesn’t look like that will be coming from Montravius Adams. At least, not as much as we would hope from a former third-round pick.

Adams has missed some practice time with an injury, and when he’s been available, we have hardly heard his name. With it being cut day, Adams is certainly on the hot seat at the moment.

Oren Burks

Oren Burks, another former third-round pick who has struggled to put it together. Each offseason, Burks has been penciled in as one of Green Bay’s starting linebackers but has failed to live up to the hype. That remains no different in 2020.

Like Adams, Burks has missed some time with an injury, and when he’s on the field, we’ve seen the same issues that have plagued him during his short career. He struggles against the run and is slow to diagnose in the passing game. If it weren’t for the Kamal Martin injury, I’d say there’s a 50/50 chance of Burks being cut, but now, the Packers need the depth.

Rick Wagner

This offseason, it was presumed that Wagner would be the starting right tackle, but early on in camp, LaFleur made it clear that nothing was set in stone on the right side of the offensive line. Wagner has battled injuries throughout his career, playing in all 16 just one time since 2014, and this summer, he missed about a week of practice with an arm injury.

Billy Turner is much better suited to be a guard than a tackle, but by all accounts, he has been better at tackle than what Wagner has been. That’s not a good sign for the Green Bay Packers.
