5. Packers lead NFL in sacks per game

It’s difficult to imagine the duo of Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith has only been in Green Bay for one year, but it was just last offseason when general manager Brian Gutekunst plucked them out of free agency. Ever since then, they’ve been the life and soul of the Packers’ defense.

In their first year locking down the edges, Z. Smith led the team with 13.5 sacks and a whopping 37 quarterback hits. Not far behind him was P. Smith with 12 sacks and 23 quarterback hits. It’s safe to say this was a destructive duo.

While Kenny Clark will continue to provide pressure up the middle, the biggest increase in production will come from Rashan Gary. Gary was selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2019 draft and used his rookie season as a sort of redshirt year. He’s come back better than ever and, with all the physical tools you can imagine, he’ll push the Packers’ pass rush over the edge and help them lead the NFL in sacks per game.
