Jordan Love

If everything goes as we hope it does in 2020, the only in-game snaps that Jordan Love takes are in the fourth quarter when the Green Bay Packers are up by four scores. However, that doesn’t make me any less excited to see the future of the Packers’ franchise on the practice field.

With up to four years still remaining on Rodgers’ current deal, the Love selection was perhaps the most shocking pick of the draft for any team as it officially started the clock on Rodgers’ time here in Green Bay. With that said, you don’t have to watch a lot of Jordan Love to see why the Packers fell in Love – pun intended – with him.

At 6’4″ – 224 pounds, Love has excellent size, very good athleticism, and he has a big arm that can make any NFL throw. While there are certainly areas of his game that need work, especially his decision-making, with the luxury of sitting and learning behind Rodgers, hopefully, those inconsistencies are ironed out.

The Packers surprised just about all of us when they traded up in Round 1 to select Love, and while I’ll fully admit a quarterback at that point in the draft is not what I was hoping for, I can’t wait to see Love and his big arm on the practice field.

Honorable Mention – Rick Wagner

Now, I’ve talked quite a bit about Rick Wagner in past articles, and he’s someone who I will be watching closely this summer as well. The tackle is a premier position in the NFL, making him a key part of this offense, but I have my concerns.

Wagner is coming off a down 2019 season, and he is someone who has battled injuries for much of his career, starting all 16 games just one time since 2014. With very little experienced depth on this roster behind him, it is paramount that Wagner stays healthy and regains some of his old form.
