Predicting what the Green Bay Packers depth chart at offensive guard could look like heading into training camp of the 2020 season.

The Green Bay Packers sport a deep interior offensive line heading into the 2020 season. Not only do they have an emerging stud, but they have quality depth and will have some tough decisions to make in the coming months.

Elgton Jenkins is the anchor of this unit. He took over as the full-time starter at left guard in Week 3 last year and never looked back. The 2019 second-round pick proved to be worth the high draft status and has an extremely high ceiling for a second-year player.

Billy Turner has more question marks on the other side. He struggled somewhat in his first year with the Packers, but managed to hold down the starting job for the entire season. There’s a chance he moves to right tackle in 2020 if Lane Taylor can prove himself worthy of a starting spot.

Speaking of Lane Taylor, he agreed to a pay cut to stay in Green Bay and that could prove to be a huge move for the Packers. Taylor gives them flexibility to move the starters on the right side around and also provides them with one of the better backups in the league.

OG3: Lane Taylor

OG4: Lucas Patrick

OG5: Jon Runyan

OG6: Cole Madison

OG7: Simon Stepniak

OG8: Zack Johnson

Lucas Patrick will be the fourth offensive guard, but also the primary backup at center. His versatility to play all three interior offensive line spots earned him a contract extension last season.

The competition ramps up after Patrick. Jon Runyan (a 2020 sixth round pick), Cole Madison (a 2018 fifth round pick) and Simon Stepniak (a 2020 sixth round selection) will all likely be battling for either a roster spot or a job on the practice squad. They each bring toughness and their own unique blend of qualities to the plate, something the Packers’ coaching squad will have to sort through. The competition will be off the charts.

Zack Johnson is on the outside looking in at this point, barring something completely unforeseen happening. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State and has a big transition to make to get accustomed to the speed of the NFL.
