Predicting what the Green Bay Packers depth chart at offensive tackle could look like heading into training camp of the 2020 season.

A year after the Green Bay Packers sported their best offensive line in Aaron Rodgers’ career, there is one major question mark entering the 2020 season. And that question mark comes at right tackle.

Green Bay had to make the difficult financial decision not to re-sign Bryan Bulaga, instead, allowing him to walk in free agency. In his stead, they signed former Wisconsin Badger Rick Wagner. Wagner appears set to receive the first opportunity to earn the starting right tackle job. He’s not nearly on the same level of Bulaga, and has had his own fair share of injuries throughout his career. It will be interesting to see if he can hold down the job for the entire year with both injuries and poor play threatening his spot.

Wagner’s biggest competition will come from Alex Light. Light can play both tackle positions and could be the next man up if either Wagner or David Bakhtiari go down. One sleeper not mentioned here is Billy Turner. Turner has experience at tackle and could slide over to Wagner’s spot with Lane Taylor filling in at right guard.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the stud David Bakhtiari. Bakhtiari is one of the best, if not THE best, left tackles in the game. This is also a contract year for him and he’s set to get paid big bucks moving forward.

LT1: David Bakhtiari

RT2: Rick Wagner

OT3: Alex Light

OT4: Yosh Nijman

OT5: John Leglue

OT6: Cody Conway

OT7: Travis Bruffy

The position gets a lot murkier after Light. Yosh Nijman is a massive (6-foot-7 and 314 pounds) undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech. Although his size is intimidating, he has work to do to prove himself as an NFL-caliber player.

John Leglue is listed here as a tackle, but the truth is he can play all five spots on the offensive line. That’s an attractive skill set in today’s game and one that could land him a spot on the roster no matter what.

Both Cody Conway and Travis Bruffy are long shots to make the Packers’ roster. Conway finished last season on Green Bay’s practice squad and Bruffy is an undrafted free agent from Texas Tech. Although Nijman and Leglue’s spots ahead of them are not set in stone, it will be difficult for either player to make the final roster.
