The Green Bay Packers could use the help of any of these five remaining free agents before the start of this year’s training camp.

With the rookies reporting to Training Camp on July 21st and the rest of the team arriving on July 28th, the Green Bay Packers are getting closer to kicking off their 2020 NFL season. There are still plenty of question marks about what the year will look like, but I’m sure those will be answered along the way.

After finishing last year with a 13-3 record, an NFC North title and an appearance in the NFC Championship game, the Packers are looking to recapture some of that magic. They certainly have their critics, as analysts wonder if last year was more of a fluke than anything else.

In order to bolster their roster, the Packers could look to sign any of these five players before the start of Training Camp.

5. Taylor Gabriel, WR

Fans and analysts alike went into this offseason expecting Green Bay to make a huge move at wide receiver. In the end, their major/only acquisition was Devin Funchess. Taylor Gabriel doesn’t qualify as a splash either, but he would provide the Packers with a proven NFL receiver–something they don’t have many of. He also brings some additional speed; a much-needed trait for their skill positions.

4. Timmy Jernigan, DL

The Packers’ defensive line was a major weakness in 2019, as everyone but Kenny Clark struggled mightily. Timmy Jernigan was released by the Philadelphia Eagles and would provide some nice depth. He can hold his own at the line of scrimmage and would make life easier for new inside linebacker Christian Kirksey.

3. Tramon Williams, DB

Tramon Williams hasn’t officially retired, but he remains on the free agent market in the beginning of July. He was solid last year and likely has another season or two of quality play in him. The Packers love to play with five or more defensive backs and still have a hole at their nickel corner. Could Williams return in the nick of time (sorry about the pun) to bolster their secondary?

2. Mike Daniels, DL

Another familiar name, Mike Daniels hasn’t been shy on Twitter about his desire to return to Green Bay. Daniels isn’t the same talent he once was, but he does bring plenty of fire and passion to the field–something that would fit right in with the likes of Za’Darius Smith and Jaire Alexander.

1. Damon Harrison, DL

It’s no coincidence this is the third defensive linemen on this list, and Damon Harrison might be the best remaining at the position. He’s a massive 6-foot-3 and 350 pounds and can just eat up blockers and take up space. This is exactly what the Packers need, as they struggled to stop the run in any capacity last season. Harrison would shore up their run defense and help take the unit to the next level.
