Darrell Stewart – WR

By now we are all well versed with the issues that the Green Bay Packers had at the receiver position last season, but as we look ahead to this year, there aren’t exactly many spots up for grabs. If the Packers do in fact go with six receivers, that really only leaves one spot available after Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Devin Funchess, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown.

And one of the several receivers vying for that sixth spot is Darrell Stewart from Michigan State. Now, Stewart doesn’t have blazing speed and truthfully drops can be an issue, but he would give this Packers’ offense an element that they didn’t really have on the roster last season; and that’s a true slot receiver.

Stewart has very good size at 6’2″ – 212 pounds and despite his lack of speed, in college, he had shown that he knows how to create enough space to make the catch. Another experienced player having appeared in 43 games, Stewart would total 1,640 yards at Michigan State with seven touchdowns.

It’s going to be a must that Stewart proves he can be a reliable pass-catcher, especially with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball, but if he can, he gives this offense another potential option out of the slot where he took 80 percent of his college snaps according to Pro Football Focus.
