What will the Green Bay Packers roster look like in 3 seasons?

Green Bay Packers Defensive Front
The Green Bay Packers’ base defensive front consists of three interior linemen and two edge players. Right now, those spots are currently occupied by The Smith Brothers, Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry, and Tyler Lancaster.
The edge spots will probably remain the same for years to come. Both Preston and Za’Darius Smith have contracts that lock them in here through 2022 and they both played at a very high-level last season. Rashan Gary, the 12th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is also under contract through 2022 and will be the third rusher that will be used in many different ways as a versatile pass-rushing piece.
The fourth spot is really what is up for grabs in the next few years. Currently on the roster fighting for that spot are Tim Williams, Randy Ramsey, Delontae Scott, Tipa Galeai, and Jonathan Garvin. Garvin was a seventh-round draft pick and has the best chance at this spot, but Galeai has great speed off the edge and could be a sleeper pick to make the roster and speed rush the edge as an occasional change of pace to the power of Za’Darius Smith.
This will be the group that they run with for this year and there is not a large chance that they use anything before a fourth or fifth-round pick in the next two drafts, but they could use a third-rounder to start developing another stud before having to make a decision on Gary and The Smiths.
The Packers defensive line may be the least talented group on the team. After Clark, there isn’t much to write home about. Dean Lowry is under contract for 2020, but they can save $5,800,000 by cutting him early and that seems like a likely scenario considering they cut a much more talented Mike Daniels early for cap savings.
A decision will have to be made on Kenny Clark and without many guys ready to take his place, he should get a sizable extension to keep wreaking havoc in the middle. Kingsley Keke is the only other defensive lineman under contract for 2022 and his cap hit is small so he will likely still be around.
Montravius Adams and Tyler Lancaster will likely be gone at the end of their respective contracts. Treyvon Hester and Gerald Willis were signed this offseason on one-year deals and if they prove themselves they could stick around for a few years.
If Green Bay wanted to get a free agent in the next two years that could impact the interior but not break the bank they could consider Corey Peters, Derek Wolfe, Danny Shelton, or Denico Autry. As far as the draft, Gutekunst hasn’t shown much urgency in improving the position that way, but if the run defense continues to struggle a high pick could be in order.
