1. Didn’t Draft a Wide Receiver

After the Packers passed on an average at best wide receiver class, only signing Devin Funchess, fans were excited at the options the 2020 NFL Draft presented the team. After all, Green Bay severely lacks pass-catching options behind receiver Davante Adams and running back Aaron Jones.

The 2020 draft was supposed to be one flush with talent at wide receiver, perhaps, even the deepest wide receiver draft ever. With the Packers holding the 30th overall pick at the end of the first draft as well as nine other selections, they had enough ammo to move up and snag a receiver they really loved or wait for one to fall to them.

They did trade up. But it was to select a quarterback at no. 26. Green Bay then passed on selecting a wide receiver in every other round and came away with only a few undrafted free agents when it was all said and done.

That puts the onus on Aaron Rodgers, Adams and Jones once again. They were severely outgunned by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game and they did very little to close the gap on paper.
