The Green Bay Packers’ offseason hasn’t gone quite as fans had hoped at the beginning and here are three mistakes they made.

Following two disappointing seasons in a row, the Green Bay Packers shocked the NFL world when they won 13 of their 16 games in 2019, won the NFC North and advanced all the way to the NFC Championship game. Unfortunately, they haven’t followed up on that momentum with a solid offseason.

Under first year head coach Matt LaFleur, the Packers re-established themselves as one of the top teams in the NFC. They went 7-1 at home and LaFleur injected some new life and culture into the club. The result was a team that thrived both on and off the field.

The Packers spent big in free agency last year in order to add talent to the top of their roster. Their additions of Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith and Adrian Amos helped anchor the defense and allowed them to lead the team. Despite Green Bay not having nearly the same amount of resources this offseason, there was still the expectation general manager Brian Gutekunst would continue aggressively adding to his team. Unfortunately, everything didn’t go to plan so let’s review the Packers’ three biggest mistakes this offseason.
