Ranking the Green Bay Packers Key Free Agents in 2021
By Paul Bretl
5. Kevin King
Unfortunately, injuries plagued the first two seasons of Kevin King’s career with the Green Bay Packers. Out of 32 possible games in 2017 and 2018, King would appear in only 15 of them with just 11 starts. However, 2019 was different. King was able to stay on the field playing in all but one game, and as a result, he put together a breakout season.
Overall King was targeted 88 times last year and he allowed a completion percentage of 60.2 percent while quarterbacks had a passer rating of only 86.6 when throwing in his direction. King would also add five interceptions, the second-most in the NFL, along with 15 pass breakups, and 66 tackles.
But as good as last season was, the reason that I have him as No. 5 on this list at this point is that I need to see him put together another healthy season and compared to the rest of the players on this list, he has been the least productive over his career.
Cornerback is a key position and it is one that the Green Bay Packers have invested in heavily in recent seasons with mixed results. With that said, King is the most replaceable of this group of free agents.
