3. Lane Taylor

Lane Taylor has been a part of many trade or cut rumors all offseason. Thus is the life when the Packers would save about $4 million this year by moving on from the left guard.

He began last season as the starting left guard for the first two games before being replaced by rookie sensation Elgton Jenkins. Jenkins was selected in the second round of the 2019 draft and quickly proved himself worthy of such a high selection. He also proved to be one of the better guards in the league and hasn’t looked back.

That leaves Taylor in a reserve role with a starter’s salary. Green Bay could keep Taylor and see if he can surpass the less than impressive Billy Turner at right guard. However, they could also move on from him and swap him for a mid-to-late-round draft pick to a team who needs a starting-caliber guard and save some money in the process.
