Wide Receiver

In a recent article, I discussed how the Green Bay Packers have plenty of depth and NFL talent at the receiver position. However, what we don’t know is if any of those players can step up and be a true No. 2 option for Aaron Rodgers.

Allen Lazard became the team’s second receiving option during the second half of the season and will look to build upon that performance in 2020. Then there was the free-agent addition of Devin Funchess who’s best NFL season was back in 2017 and he spent most of 2019 on IR.

Meanwhile, Marquez Valdes-Scantling will look to rebound after an abysmal season that ended with him primarily standing on the sidelines. But some good news is that Equanimeous St. Brown will be returning after missing all of 2019 with an injury. He was able to make a few big plays as a rookie and could provide the Green Bay Packers with a big slot presence.

As I pointed out, there is certainly plenty of talent listed there, but as we saw last season, this offense needs more juice and reliability when it comes to the passing game. And for them to be as successful as they can be, one – or hopefully more – of these players needs to kick it up a notch in 2020.
