8. January 9th, 2019 at Houston Rockets: 27 points, 21 rebounds, 5 assists

Despite being one of the league’s best rebounders, Antetokounmpo didn’t record his first 20-20 game (20 points and 20 rebounds) until January 15th, 2018 against the Washington Wizards. About a year later–January 9th, 2019–he earned his second, this time with a little extra flair.

In a showdown against fellow MVP candidate James Harden, Antetokounmpo showed off the versatility of his game and why he ultimately went on to win the award. He finished the game with 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and went to the free throw line 14 times (making 11 of them). Although it was just an average scoring night, he did most of his damage on the boards where he collected 21 total rebounds–a mark that’s still a career-high to this day.

The addition of his five assists also made this feat extra special. Since 2015-16, Antetokounmpo has notched four games where he recorded at least 20 points, 20 rebounds and five assists–only one player has more throughout that span (Andre Drummond). As one of the most versatile players in the game, he certainly showed that on this January night against the Rockets.
