Josh Jackson

In terms of experience, this isn’t a very deep cornerback unit for the Green Bay Packers and is one with several question marks. So having Josh Jackson play meaningful snaps and play them well, will go a long ways for this defense.

As a rookie in 2018, Jackson took his lumps as he went from playing a zone heavy scheme at Iowa to Mike Pettine’s press-man. But there were flashes that gave you hope as well. Unfortunately, an injury early in camp last summer set him back and he was never able to recover.

Jackson would tumble down the depth chart and only ended up playing in 9.9 percent of the Packers’ defensive snaps last season. And when he was on the field, it didn’t go well. Jackson would give up seven receptions on eight targets with a touchdown.

Jackson is now entering Year 3 in the NFL and as a former second-round selection, he is barely receiving any playing time. For a Packers team that could use a boost at the cornerback position and for Jackson himself who sooner than later needs to make some progress, they really need to see him take that step forward in 2020.
