1. The Packers will draft their first wide receiver….in the second round.

The wide receiver position is so deep in this year’s draft that one figures to be at the top of the Packers’ board in almost every round. So why use your first pick on one unless he’s going to be a true difference-maker?

If the Packers can address another need with their top pick and then circle back to receiver in the second-round, they’d likely be able to get two players who can make an immediate impact in 2020. If they snag a pass-catcher in the first round, it’s likely another receiver would be at the top of their board in the second so they’d have to make a decision at that point about doubling down on the position.

Even if they go a different route than receiver in the first, there should still be a number of good players left on the board. Players like Michael Pittman Jr., Laviska Shenault and KJ Hamler. Those are some pretty good players that would immediately be the second-best wide receiver on the Packers’ roster next year.
