Let’s compare 3 different mock draft scenarios for the Green Bay Packers. One where they trade up, one where they stay put, and another where they trade back.

The NFL Draft is now less than two weeks away and while it is always difficult to exactly pinpoint what a team is going to do early on, when it comes to the Green Bay Packers, it seems even more challenging this offseason.

Although they ended up just one game shy of the Super Bowl in 2019, they really do have quite a few positions that could use some attention in this year’s draft.

Of course, most will point out the receiver and linebacker positions as the primary needs, but they also need to find their long-term solution at right tackle. On top of that, Kenny Clark needs some help inside and the cornerback room has some unknowns.

Not to mention that Corey Linsley and Aaron Jones are both free agents after the 2020 season, so they could be looking for an interior offensive lineman and a running back at some point as well. Heck, even added depth at safety and tight end should be on their radar.

Another variable in all of this is Brian Gutekunst’s unpredictability. In 2018 he would trade back before trading back up to take Jaire Alexander. Then in Round 3 that same year he would trade up once again to select Oren Burks.

Just this past offseason he would select Rashan Gary at 12th overall after signing Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith in free agency. He would then follow that up by making another move up the draft board, this time to select Darnell Savage.

So while we certainly don’t know how things will end up for the Green Bay Packers, I wanted to run three separate mock draft scenarios that’ll help give us an idea of how things could shake out for them during the draft.

Mock draft No. 1 is trading up in Round 1 to land a star wide receiver. Mock draft No. 2 is staying put at pick 30. While mock draft No. 3 is trading back out of Round 1 to net an additional draft pick. All three of these mock drafts are five rounds since that is where Green Bay will statistically find their difference-makers and I also used Pro Football Network’s mock draft simulator for all of them.

As always I will give my reasoning behind my selections for each mock draft and also be sure to follow the link to head over to our Dairyland Express account on Twitter, to vote for your favorite!
